The 5 Steps of Brain Education

There are five essential steps in Brain Education. Through Sensitizing, we awaken our senses and learn to manage our stress response system. Versatilization guides us to gain deep flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. By Refreshing we release the hold of negative or unhelpful memories, emotions and concepts. The Integration step is designed to gain access to the brain’s infinite potential. Finally, Mastery is the step of advanced executive functioning, whereby we use the previous four steps in a process of continuous self-improvement. All the steps are informed by principles of brain function as illuminated through neuroscience. Brain Education commonly results in improved concentration, greater creative power, and increased empathy and cooperative spirit.

Sensitizing Awakens the brain-body senses. Stimulates blood circulation to improve the body’s overall physiological functioning. Enhances awareness of our brain and its functions.

Versatilizing Focuses on flexibility to free us from our fixed habits or patterns. Opens the brain to new information, making it more adaptable to new experiences and situations.

Refreshing Training to release negative emotional memories and habits. Clears away emotional residues of earlier, (often traumatic) experiences, and redirects the associated energy toward new perspectives and attitudes.

Integrating Integrates the different functional areas of the brain to release latent capabilities. Improves communication and cooperative interaction between the brain’s right and left hemispheres, and subcortial structures.

Mastering Helps achieve greater mastery over the brain (executive control). Develops the power of choice and volition – the brain’s muscles for making free decisions and carrying them out.  Enables total authorship of one’s life.
